The last project I was Lead
Engineer for a Parsons was a disaster as far as documentation was
concerned. We tried to use a piece of software that was suppose to
allow us to develop the require documentation, IE: instrument Index,
Loop sheets and Specification sheets from the application, however,
there was numerous problems with the software including report
generation that just didn't work well at all and in the end we had to
generate the loop sheets manually.
I had previously written the
database program that Parsons used in the Charlotte office, however, the
advent of Windows knocked it out of the box because IT said the new
stuff could do the job better. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and we
stumbled along as best we could. Then someone said we they had the answer
to our dreams, an application that could almost do it all and in the end
it was a nightmare.
I stumbled on
to
IDesignOffice and I am genuinely impressed, After giving it a test
run I am even more impressed and have a local Firm trying it out also. Take a peek at it, click on their logo Above and let me
know if you are as impressed as I was!!! ... Cliff Johnson, PE Control
Systems Engineer
